CHOOSING YOUR MOCKUP

Let the screen support the interface.

A nearly straight-on device makes interface text easier to read and keeps more of the screen visible. A tilted or floating phone adds depth to a presentation, but perspective can make small navigation labels harder to judge. Choose the angle according to whether you want to explain an interface or set the mood of a project.

Compare screen proportions, edge shape and the amount of surrounding space. A neutral studio scene works well beside product screenshots; a phone on a real surface can make an app feel more familiar. Strong reflections and glass overlays are best suited to designs with a clear central focal point.
